Part-Time Customer Service Representative/Bank Teller

This position has the opportunity to become a full-time position in the future.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the efficient, accurate processing of customer transactions and servicing accounts.
  • Serve as contact for client problem resolution and perform maintenance for current clients regarding deposit products as well as alternative delivery channels (e.g., online banking, mobile banking).

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must be dependable and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the desire to interact with customers and prospects as well as the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Previous Banking/Teller or cash handling experience preferred but not required.

This position will be for our Bedford, VA Office.

Deposit Operations Manager

Responsible for providing oversight of the deposit operations department including item processing, exception item processing, branch cash management, GL reconciliation, ACH and wire processing. 

Duties to include:

  • Responsible for overseeing all aspects of deposit operations, to include: item processing, all source capture channels, ATM,  ACH and Wire processing, Debit Cards, Monitoring Daily Reports, BSA, Research and supporting branch/retail operations.
  • Oversees exception item processing including Return Deposit Items, Charge-backs, and NSF processing. Internal partners with appropriate areas within the bank in the resolution of processing or posting errors.
  • Liaison between IT, Vendors, and other Lines of Business to develop efficient workflows.
  • Responsible for overseeing reconciliation of GL’s and accounts used for branch cash, ATM and wire settlement
  • Develops, implements, trains and maintains bank procedures for deposit operations.
  • Ensure timely processing and compliance with Bank procedures and regulations
  • Manages system access for assigned banking applications and responsible for semi-annual access reviews more in an administrative capacity than managing system access.
  • Provide thorough and accurate reporting to management of deposit operations functions
  • Lead or assist projects related to deposit operations
  • Ability to analyze trends to mitigate risks and minimize
  • Responsible for employee development and training including providing support and regular reviews of performance
  • Maintain industry awareness of new developments in deposit operations technology that are in line with the Bank’s strategic objective           
  • Oversee the technical function of all deposit operations related systems with the partnership of the Information Technology department
  • Work with vendors and other Bank staff to ensure plans are in place to recover critical business functions when necessary due to critical events
  • Maintains knowledge of the banking industry as well as the market areas served
  • Subject matter expert on all related bank deposit operations activities.
  • Communicates effectively and maintains favorable working relationships with management, peers, and/or external examiners, auditors and consultants
  • Partner with compliance and risk employees to respond to requests for information
  • All other duties as needed or required

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Minimum of at least five (5) years of current Deposit Operations experience required. In addition, Electronic Banking and Cash Management experience preferred.                                                                                                          
  • Must have strong supervisory, customer service (both internal and external), problem resolution, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be detail oriented and well organized. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and able to become proficient in the use of various other software applications and technologies that may be used in the performance of responsibilities.
  • Ability to learn to and adapt to change and flexibility of both schedule and routines is required.
  • Must interact with customers and co-workers in a professional manner.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years experience ind deposit operations may substitute for above.
